Sounds.... like.... fu..... no!! Must resist!! Digging a hole for 4 hours!!??!! Must use sanity!!!! You'd think so, but when you find a strip of iron or gold ore, or even diamonds, and you think of the tools, weapons, home decorations or building blocks you can make with them, it feels rewarding & you keep going! Or you break through into some huge underground cavern to spelunk. The game is like crack!

or be digging and hear a wail that in game is the signifier for a cavern being one block behind the wall of the cave your in now and thinking theres a creature in the room. Seriously minecraft is a great survival horror game sometimes

I spent 4 hours last night trying to build an elevated road from my homebase to the location I plan on moving to next. The damned days are just too short! Oh and last night I was also doubleteamed by creepers!! One distracted me, and while I was killing him. . the other snuck up on me and blew me up! Argghhhh!! This new world that I started seems to spawn more mosters outside than my other world. Creepers and spiders especially.

Creepers and spiders especially. make torches dude, they repel some of the monsters unless notch changed that in a recent patch. or utilize running water and lava instead of building long paths. -and my trees are growing quite well, shame i lost like half the forest worlds trees in a massive brush fire that got like 200 blocks within my home.

Notch just put this up on his twitter. It appears wolf packs are incoming. Actually I read on one of the forums that pet dogs were coming, that could be what those are! Not sure if a pet dog in the game would be a help or a hinderance, but either way it will be cool to have new creatures!

I had read that you are supposed to be able to get dogs from the wolves. . . like domestication or something. . . . seems a rather large leap tho.

Dogs seem lovely since at the minute Ive been resorting to keeping a pet pig. It wasnt my choice, he followed me for a day and so I couldnt slaughter him for his baconey goodness. Dogs would be good, I wonder if you could use them to herd sheep or defend against creepers? Wolves would be a daytime mob spawn? Lower rate obviously but still something to take away the safety of sunshine.

Ugh. I've been building this minecart track that must stretch for a couple miles. SUPER annoying when I'm a mile and a half from my homebase/spawn point and I get killed by a friggin skeleton with arrows. I use INVedit to build the track because coming across iron is such a pain in the ass and it'd take me like 3 hours of mining to build some track that stretched 16 blocks... then another hour of mining to get a cart.

You gits got me into it now. I seem to be making a burrow at the moment, possibly turning into some underground fortress a Dwarf would be proud of. Hope I don't wake up a Balrog.
