So what's your Favorite Movie?

Not top ten, not "well its hard to say" but the one you love the most.

Me and some mates were talking about this earlier and one gal said "just think, what one film do you think of first? the one you will watch when asked to whenever, the one you will see in passing or channel skipping and always watch it. Something you have probably watched twice in a day or more.

After a bit of a think i can say pretty confidently that my favorite movie is The Big Lebowski, by the coen brothers.
If you havent seen it, and i am sorry for you who haven't, it stars jeff bridges in the mid 80's or 90's ,cant remember which, as a layabout stoner who calls himself 'the dude' who gets pulled into a world of kidnapped trophy wives, bowling child molesters, nihilist techno bands, stolen cars, a crazy family and a rug that really tied a room together.

Its a flick where a lot happens but in the end nothing has really happened at all and it stars a stellar cast with the likes of john goodman, jeff bridges and jon turturro doing the most memorable performances of there careers. I could probably watch it every few days and never grow tired of it. its my absolute favorite movie.

but whats yours?

I immediately thought of Addams Family Values:

Gomez: He has my father's eyes.
Morticia: Gomez, take those out of his mouth.

I may have to watch those this season.
Those aren't real problems, Sam.

This should come as no surprise to those of you that know me, but....Ghostbusters. Never gets old, the laughs never fail, and it always holds my attention. Greatest comedy/sci fi ever made. Saw it a week ago in a packed theater and played beautifully. Still holds up great by today's standards.

The Green Mile, which edges Forrest Gump out by a slight margin.

Ghaaa!!! You would have to limit it to JUST ONE?!?! I don't know that I can do it.

When I was younger I would've said Star Wars w/out hesitation. I saw that move well over a hundred times when I was a lad.

Later I would've said NOTLD.

Right now my heart is saying Carpenter's "The Thing". That movie just hits all the right buttons for me. "Excalibur" is another.

"Open Range" might be a close second. Don't know why, there are other more "classic" westerns out there that are favorites from Clint & The Duke, but Open Range is such the quintessential western. I love everything about that movie.

See, told you I couldn't name just one.

Used to be a tossup over The Princess Bride and Aliens. . I've seen those two movies more than any other I fear. Then for a while it was Braveheart. I think the one movie that I can't pass by nowadays without watching at least a little of is The Clockwork Orange. . .I've always loved that movie.

The movies that come to mind first are The Princess Bride and What About Bob?

Everyone keeps saying that it's hard to choose just one, but it's actually the opposite for me. My number one has always and will always be Ghostbusters, but choosing a movie for the #2 slot is extremely hard. Maybe Fight Club? To Kill a Mockingbird? Day or Dawn? I can watch all of those movies everyday for the rest of my life and never get tired of them. Just too many choices...

Danny, you say The Big Lebowski is your favorite movie but you don't know when it was made? Jeez, man. It was the late 90's.

Many of you already know that my favorite movie of all-time is Dawn Of The Dead. BTTF II comes in a very close second.

*gasp*

You may be the only other person i've heard say they prefer part 2. I love the original, all three of them actually, but part 2 has always been my favorite...
