Not bad considering a stronger showing for the Oscars (which was up three million on last year, riding in at 43 million) ... and not bad at all in general, of course. Continually handsome ratings.

Was beaten overall by "Resurrection" the remake of "The Returned" but not in the key demo which is what the advertisers are looking for.

I would be surprised if "Resurrection" holds up to the same level in the ratings in the second week. Not that I've seen it, but it's usually the case that figures drop come the second episode after the curious-but-not-interested-enough give up. I was a big fan of "Les Revenants", so see no reason to watch the Americanised version whatsoever personally.

Still holding strong - and in the right places, too, as you point out.

I remember "Les Revenants" getting pimped out here in the UK as if it were a zombie show - it ain't - zombies and revenants are two totally different things. I wonder if the advertising for "Resurrection" was similarly dodgy in its representation.

I'd imagine the figure will rise again next week for the finale - those tent pole episodes usually draw the biggest numbers.

Always interesting how, after a big water cooler episode (e.g. last week), the following episode gets a boost ... and then, if that episode isn't 'as amazeballs' as the water cooler discussions of the previous week, then the following week sees a dip, but then usually that's got something really awesome in it. So, sometimes, the best episodes don't get the best numbers.

    Woweeeeeeeeeee.

They've nailed this at AMC. With the break they basically have 2 premieres and 2 finales which inflates the average viewership.
I really wouldn't be surprised if season 5's premiere goes even higher.

    Cor blimey guvnah!

I was expecting an upswing for the finale, but wasn't expecting quite that sort of a swing - and just shy of the mid-season premiere's 15.8m!

The split season works quite well for TWD. The gap isn't that big, particularly when you count-in the festive season, and it allows you to have - in the case of season four - two smaller arcs for the two halves, and one big arc for the season as a whole.

Hmmmm, seemed like the hype and expectations were definitely pumped up for this one, so I figure it was probably a bunker buster of a night. I certainly hope so, after seeing that episode
