LOL, did you guys bother checking Amazon US? They are priced at...

    Blu Ray - $32

    DVD - $26

I wish they'd get them up on Amazon UK!!!

I did, but at this point it may be still too early to tell. Granted, AMC had commercials suggesting that the show be preordered through Amazon, but with three months to go and no special features listed.....i'm not trusting that pricing. Not just yet, anyway.

Not to mention that's a new price. It was much higher when I checked a few days ago.

Amazon have a pre-order price guarantee, order it now and that is the price you'll pay.

Can't wait to hear Darabonts commentary of the pilot.
Shit, I'll listen to all if them anyway but Darabonts will be very interesting. I hope they get Kirkman in for Vatos as well. He's got some explaining to do.

I look forward seeing the difference in tone seeing the show in black and white. Also I take the people put off by the potential price dont buy many tv shows.... 50 dollars it pretty standard launch price for an amc tv show dvd.. Minus pre-order discount.

BTW if people are undecided on whether to buy the blu-ray or DVD, the blu won't look much better than the DVD because of the way it was shot. It will look sharper but the grain will soften the pic quality overall. If the blu has more special features then go ahead and get it but don't buy the blu expecting superb picture quality.

Um no.... Dvd=480 lines of resolution... Blu Ray 1080 lines... Source material was shot on super16mm far surpasses sd color spectrum and clarity.
the only time hd provides no real clear advantage is if something is shot on a sd source like dv... ALL film has grain... Including 72mm(commonly referred to as IMAX).... Grain is no reason to shy away from 1080p.

No commentaries and the same videos we've seen online?!? What kind of bullshit way is this to treat one of the widest viewed shows in history? I may just stick with my DVR recordings of the show and save my money.

I'd be extremely happy with a directors cut or two out of the six eps. Perhaps restore some previously edited out material on at least Days Gone bye. That's the kind of stuff I look forward to most.
You know that little voice in your head? My wife says I lack that.

Well I suppose there'll be the "making of" thingy on it - which I didn't get to see online because I wasn't 'in the right country' ... but still, absolutely nothing new (that hasn't been online, I mean) for the release of this rather successful show? That's a bit harsh.

Some sites are listing the UK release date as June 6th 2011. 3-disc DVD, 2-disc BR.

Not sure if that's official or not, mind.
