very true - anyway I think your question actually shows a good understanding of what was happening - the idiots I'm talking about say "eh, what's a kick" - at which point I get tempted to show them!

Didn't really have a problem following the plot either. Good film, tho.

Hated it in the theater, but really enjoyed it upon subsequent viewings. Even still, that doesn't excuse the film lacking a passably enjoyable, dramatic or well thought out ending. That was a big ball they dropped, in my opinion.

Hey Andy, let me take that in a completely different direction: I loved Zombieland, however, I think the entire Bill Murray sequence was completely unnecessary and shouldn't have been in the film.

Seriously though, i don't see the whole point of that sequence at all. Sure, the "don't cross the streams!"/ghostbusters thing was funny, but it made no sense to stick that in the middle of this flick. None.

There wasn't a point to the entire movie, dude. It's about a guy and some kids looking for twinkies! The only thing Zombieland set out to achieve is to make you laugh....and that's all the Murray sequence was for.

The alien sequence in Life Of Brian was pointless to the plot, but it was still funny as hell. Comedies don't have to stick to one strict plotline...

I liked Zombieland an awful lot but the BM cameo wasn't stand-out for me. It was good. I laughed. But it did come at a price to some of my immersion in the story. And I maintain that if they're going to "go there" they needed to have BM say as his only regret, "Well, Kingpin..." and have Tallahasee wholeheartedly agree that it was BM's only stupid/bad movie.
Just look at my face. You can tell I post at HPOTD.

But in a movie full of laughs, that sequence (to me) was completely unnecessary. It seemed like it was just a sequence to show him off and seemed totally out of place. I didn't need Murray to make the movie funny/funnier.

Imagine how bad it would've been if their original choice had accepted....Patrick Swayze.

I'm still recovering from xmas, man. My bacon-meter is off-kilter.

BTW: Dj pointed something out to me the other day (this is bacon-related): someone who worked on DL2 was also on the set for a Kevin Bacon film. That means I am two degrees from KEVIN fucking BACON! My bacon meter is 2! WTF!?

"My wife says if I keep this up, I'll turn into Kevin Bacon." *crosses fingers*
