Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. I'm going to point out the obvious and say that just because she wrote Twilight, that doesn't mean she's going to use the same formula for Highlander. It is possible to write for different genres....

It couldn't be worse than Highlander 2.

This could be interesting depending on how it's worked, or just plain horrible.

Saw this reported yesterday...don't like the choice at all. I don't even mind Reynolds, but this doesn't seem a good fit.

Dave Bautista (Guardians Of The Galaxy) is Kurgan - http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=43437

Dave Bautista – Drax in Guardians Of The Galaxy and Mr. Hinx in Spectre – is filling a Kurgan-shaped hole in the fast-developing Highlander reboot.

Bautista seems to be really making a name for himself in the movie business. He was good as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy, he'll be the return of the classic Bond henchman(if Skyfall is any indication), and now this.

I'm not a huge fan of the original films/series, so I'm certainly willing to give this a fair shot. There seems to be a little bit of hope that it could turn out good, anyway.

Hm. Haven't seen him in anything, so can't judge. Brown's Kurgan will be a HUGE act to top. Glad Reynolds bailed. "Highlander" will be a hard one to improve on IMO as it's a classic that is WAY more than the sum of its modest parts.

One thing will be for sure... The soundtrack of the new one will not be as good!

Most likely not. One never knows if they could haul in a great contemporary band, maybe they could turn in one as good maybe, certainly not better though. Wonder if they'll even try, or just go "straight" with no rock elements?
