Funny you guys mention beck. He's my wife's favorite. Some of it I can dig, but some of it not so much. The more electronic sounding stuff isn't my cup of tea. I'm not a big fan of her favorite(Beck) and she's not a big fan of mine(311), but we both love Cake. Weird.

i just found one of my favourite bands, the protomen, did a perfect example of their work. a "pro beard ballad" for movemeber about a rock operaesque love of facial hair

I'm realllly bad at summarizing what I love into lists, but these are what popped into my head in no particular order: 5 Movies I Happen to love Jaws Raiders of the Lost Ark Rushmore The Natural Wall Street 5 Albums I Happen to Love Living in Clip, Ani DiFranco WDST (Woodstock Radio) 20th & 25th Anniversary Live recordings, Various Artists Mighty Mighty Bosstones Live from the Middle East Rock Spectacle, Barenaked Ladies Hey Brother...Can You Spare Me Some Ska, Vol. I, Various Artists 3: Iron Maiden: Live After Death. (possibly the greatest live album in the whole of human history!) I have an epic live version of Run to the Hills that I got off a promotional sampler CD given away free with some purchase at a Nyack, NY headshop in the early 2000s, I wonder if it's from that album originally. It's lightning in my speakers when I put it on and it's a regular listen for me.
