    Earth like planet confirmed...

    in a system 600 ly from here. the planet is about 2.4 times the mass of earth with a surface temp of about 22C.

    kepler just keeps finding planets one right after another. 2,326 of them so-far. 207 of which are earth sized. 48 of them are in the habitable zone of their parent stars.

    As our kit gets better, we will find more of these worlds snuggled in the "goldilocks zones" of their solar systems.

    What we really need to be doing is looking at ways to visit them at a fairly decent speed. I had so many hopes for space travel when I was younger...
    Oblivion gallops closer, favoring the spur, sparing the rein - I think we will be gone soon
