Some people complain that the show is too "soap opera", but they're the same people that are quick to label characters things like "whore" or "slut". If thats the way they see it, they should definitely be watching Days of Our Lives or some shit... Not quite sure if you are serious? I would never label a woman a whore unless she's asking money to sleep with her. However I do see some degree of ratio behind the statement that TWD is, at times, a bit soap opera - ish. Especially in the flat, stereotypical characterisation the series has occasionaly suffered from and the often laughable dialogue. I love the series, I really do, but that doesn't mean it's faultless and one cannot be critical without being compared to some internet goons. Sure, it isn't Days of our lives, but it isn't The Wire either.

I don't get some of the fervent anti-Lori sentiment that's out there. She's a flawed person, but so are pretty much all of the characters ... I blame Shane far more for Lori knocking boots with him than Lori. The world's going to shit and she's been told - by Shane - that Rick was dead. In extreme circumstances you're going to want to feel safe and protected, and under the belief that her husband was dead, it makes sense what Lori did.

Yeah. That plus the fact their marriage was going to hell anyway. Shane knowing this used it to his advantage and so on. I think this character is being labelled as a 'slut' or a 'whore' so much on the internet is because a large portion of the target audience for this kind of pulp, comic book, 'genre' fiction are male teenagers/adolescents who are in the process of getting over the fact that their childhood sweetheart (if they ever had one) just left them for somebody else. Cue lotsa personal projection goings on

I was commenting on a certain photo and the general opinion of many i've seen across the net. Anyway....
