    PS4 (console)

Seems very similar to the XBox leaked specs?!

    http://kotaku.com/5977849/the-playst...ium=Socialflow

    System Memory: 8GB
    Video Memory: 2.2 GB
    CPU: 4x Dual-Core AMD64 "Bulldozer" (so, 8x cores)
    GPU: AMD R10xx
    Ports: 4x USB 3.0, 2x Ethernet
    Drive: Blu-Ray

Talk of a touchpad on a new controller too!

Sounds like its not a wiiu style touch screen, but like the vitas touchpad on the underside of the controller that allows you to make gestures with your index fingers on the underside to effect things in game.
Which is honestly a lot more interesting design wise than a touch screen which is just more ui and clutter for most games with little benefit.

Sony has upped the ante by stating that the PS4 will NOT block used games. Let's see if Microsoft follows suit when they announce the next Xbox. I think they will drop it (if it was ever really being considered in the first place).

    Seems it's NOT backward compatible.

What I have read thus far is that the PS4 is not compatible with PS3 discs, but is compatible with PS3 games streamed (purchased) through their new PS Cloud thing.

It is a good thing I did not invest in too many P$3 and P$N games.

Why in the name of all that is holy would they not reveal the console? Have they actually designed one?

My guess is to incite Microsoft into jumping the gun and blowing their execution of the Xbox720 or whatever it's called. I think it probably burns Sony's ass that Xbox charges for online membership yet Microsoft still serves as a fierce competitor in the market place. Just my take on it.

Think how often these companies say they have a product worthwhile but it just isn't quite ready yet....then it turns out that it was only a dream but they are much closer than before in their efforts of creating it a reality. Just wait 2 more years.

Sad Holiday season when new game consoles come out. People get stabbed and shot over them. Worse than a pair of new Jordans.

I don't think the final console will be as powerful as they claimed and there's no real demand for PS4 or Xbox 3.

After being without internet for 3 weeks i finally saw this news and just thought "why not just release this controller for the ps3 as well if its done now?" i mean the ps-one era had a controller change, what does this do that makes it unworkable for a ps3?
