EA raises prices of next-gen games to £54.99

    http://www.cinemablend.com/games/EA-...-99-57437.html

The United Kingdom based retail outlet, GAME, has verified that the price of next-gen titles from Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 4 (and presumably the Xbox One) will be raised from £39.99 to £54.99.
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Seriously?! Let's see how long that bullshit lasts ... goddamn EA.

For our American chums, £54.99 = $83.18, whereas the usual £39.99 is $60.48 (sixty bucks being the standard US price, correct?) ... so this is just for the UK? If so - even bigger bullshit from EA ... they can properly do-one. Wankers.

I'd imagine their justification is something along the lines of 'recovering losses from the pre-owned market/lack of DRM policies' - so it's probably all our own fault that they've forced this price hike on us. Of course they really, really didn't want to but we left them no choice. We're such bastards...

I'd make some quip about "whos still buying EA games" but theres enough mindless brand loyalty guys that the next 40% game, 60% dlc dragon age or battlefields going to be bought by enough retards to tell EA this price hike is just fine.

Meanwhile, I buy quality games off of Steam for 5 - 30 bucks.

It seems only high concept games are in the 50 EURO range these days on Steam. Rome: Total War 2 being one of them. Damnit.
