The Wicker Man (film) - Director's Cut

Word is, this new version is based on Hardy's original cut of the film (which was later pared down for its initial run). The theatrical version was originally screened as part of a double bill and runs 88 minutes. Hardy's version ran 102 minutes, so we're looking at quite a bit of new footage.
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. The 99min Directors Cut has been out on DVD for 3-4 years... (There was a splendid 2xDVD + CD soundtrack set).

It'll be interesting to see if they've managed to restore the quality of the stuff that was cut, and what the extra 3 mins contains...

The Directors Cut is a classic - much better, I think, than the theatrical release, so fingers-crossed the Blu-ray will be worth it!

Unfortunately the DVD of the directors cut is cobbled together from very different sources and like the old 'Witchfinder General' DVD, it's seriously grates on the enjoyment of the film.

Hopefully, they've found a good quality print to draw the new stufff from this time.
