    2/5.

    Godzilla 2014

Wasted oppertunity. Excellent visuals, but stupid characters and plot points. Also, for being a "Godzilla"-film it features an awful little "Godzilla" and an awful lot of other monsters. This remake takes after the rather silly "Godzilla vs. XXX" series of flicks rather than the original one where Godzilla, a monster and commentary on nuclear warfare, wreaks destruction on helpless humans. Never thought I'd say this, but the '98 version is much, much better.

    3/5

    Locke

An OK film! I enjoyed watching it but I'd say that there's only so much you can do with a "one actor" - "one location" type of story, and this one drags a bit the last half-hour.

    2/5.

    Red Sonja

Horrible. There's no subtext in any of the dialoge. Every line - or at least nearly all of them - spell out exactly what the character wants. So stupid.
Also, for being a flairful Sword and Sorcery-film, I'm surprised that the actors didn't play more with their roles. Sandahl Bergmans villain is plain and boring. If I were playing a villain in a silly 80's conan ripoff, I'd have a little fun with it.

Nothing positive can be said of that film except for the visuals. Even the fights were boring.

    Anyway...

Investigation of a Citizen above Suspicion /
Indagine su un cittadino al di sopra di ogni sospetto

    4/5

A high ranking homicide detective decides to test his colleagues. He murders his lover and sets himself up via a series of clues and witnesses. However, as the title suggests, perhaps he is a citizen above suspicion.

Ned's disappointment never fails to impress.

I actually thought it was decent enough.

My main problem was the lack luster main star.

Not really a Gojira fan though.

A classic Hitchcock film which, unusually for him, was based on a true story. He manages to claw out incredible tension and dread from the simplest of scenes.

The last quarter seems to drag though IMHO.

    A solid 7/10
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. I'm not always seeing the posters - can people please also write in the title too? Ned and Neil have both referred to films in the last 24 hours that I don't know what they are because the images aren't showing for them (Ned's 2/5, the third on his list, and Neil's most recent 7/10).

Well, Ned's 2/5 is 'Red Sonja', I'd say and I guess Neil's Hitchcock true story is probably 'The Wrong Man'.

Super Duper Alice Cooper - 9/10.

A documentary about Alice Cooper that has an 'in the now' style to it's presentation (e.g. we only get people's voices narrating events, rather than seeing them on-screen as they are in the present day). It's nicely put together and sheds new light on the history of the band and the man, and it mostly covers the years 1968 to 1986 (eighteen years, appropriately enough).
