UK up to its usual tricks? Early showing cut?

So tonight, TWD is on at 9pm and 11pm, on the same channel...

As has happened before, is the 9pm cut?

I'll be recording the 11pm version and watching it tomorrow just incase!
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Going by the previous few series of TWD, I would imagine so.
I've got both on record to confirm .... till then, safest bet for UK Fans is to stick to the 11PM showing
    for the full uncut goodness.

It's a fairly crazy night because with Fox and Fox+1 it's on at:-
    9pm
    10pm
    11pm
    12pm

I'm assuming first two cut. Latter two un-cut.

How could you tell though? I recall watching most of a series at the 9pm slot not aware of of the editing. Later that season it was confirmed seconds of footage were chopped from a number of places in episodes etc.

Pretty simple Neil. If I don't notice it then I'm not bothered.
I watch the US broadcast on Monday afternoons and the UK 9pm broadcast at night and compare the 2.

Well, I watched both and can't honestly say that I noticed a difference.
The 'gore qouta' seemed a little turned down for this one though, being more of a mental/emotional ride.
So maybe there wasn't anything to cut?
Maybe tonights will show a difference?
I'm going to stick with the 11pm showing as my 'keeper' though, there certainly were cuts before and I
don't like the fact that they can edit my viewing on a whim and not even have the common decency to
    inform us. grr

Same here! The annoything this is, that means I can't watch it until Tuesday night as I don't want to stay up till midnight.

If they could just show it at 10pm, perfect!

Did anybody who watched the US version notice any cuts in the one on FOX UK. I wondered because it was brutal episode and I wondered if we missed anything newsworthy. I should imagine some gore was removed from this one.

It's on at 11pm so I do hope = no cuts!

If it is cut then I'll need to start "catching" the US version!

I'd imagine, going on previous form, the 9pm showings stand a strong chance of being trimmed for gore at times, while the 11pm showing on the same channel would be completely uncut (that was certainly the case on season 4).

However, I'd also imagine that the Fox+1 showing at 10pm would just be a straight and identical repeat of the (possibly cut) 9pm screening. Basically, if you want to guarantee an uncut viewing experience in the UK, watch it at 11pm on Fox (which would also be repeated at midnight on Fox+1).

They want 9pm to catch the best amount of viewers, and then 11pm sits there as the unannounced uncut showing. It's kinda shitty of them to show it cut at 9pm to unsuspecting viewers (when they showed it at 10pm - IIRC that was up to the mid-season 4 break - it was always uncut, however 9pm is right at the watershed so rather strong gore/violence - or language, or sex - is liable to be trimmed on most channels for an 'easing in' effect ... silly, isn't it? )

Well I have just watched the later version, having watched the 9pm version last night and I cant see any cuts at all. Maybe they have stopped chopping the episodes now.

Or the goriest stuff was far enough into the 9pm slot that it was okay to show uncut. If there's graphic gore/violence within the first 15 to 30 minutes then it's much more likely to be cut during the 9pm slot.
