Night Of The Living Dead - Nine minutes of new footage

Seems George Romero dropped huge news at Monster Mania. Martin Scorsese is working on a new restoration from the original negatives, and while doing so a 16mm work print was discovered which includes roughly a nine minute scene never before released on home media. This was a scene that takes place at the jump cut in the basement, including the largest zombie scene in the film!

Even if this footage cannot be included as part of the original film due to its quality or it simply not making the film "better", fans will surely want to see this footage even if only as additional material on a bluray.

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. How can a scene previously described as a "basement scene" also be the "largest zombie scene in the film"? Is there a monster mash going on down there or what?

When Harry & Helen Cooper were talking in the cellar the original film cut to an external shot of the "largest" collection of zombies & then back to the cellar.... but that section was physically cut from the film so there's a very noticeable jump in the postion of Harry & Helen's heads in the version that got released.
