    RIP Adam West

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-40235142

Adam West, the US actor best known as the star of the 1960s hit TV series Batman, has died aged 88.

West died peacefully in Los Angeles after a brief battle with leukaemia, a family spokesperson said.
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Even though his interpretation of the character wasn't exactly true to it's origins, he still made it his own and still defined it for a generation. That TV show and movie has even seemed to have had a resurgence in popularity in recent years. The recent cartoon film with West and Ward providing voices was a blast, as well!
