    The Terror (AMC)

    Anyone seen the Terror?

I'm 8 episodes in and am enjoying it.
Feels kinda like a one season kind of show. Don't think they can stretch it to two and still keep it interesting. Especially since we all kinda know how it ends (it's loosely based on actual events).

If you don't know what it is, just look at the Opening Credits.

Opened great. But, I only made it to episode 7. It does trail off.

I'll return to it and finish it out eventually.

There really shouldn't be another series. There's no point.

Funny, they could have made a straightforward show about the real Franklin expidition to the north passage, without the supernatural angle. That was terror enough.
I'm runnin' this monkey farm now Frankenstein.....

I agree. I read a book about the Jeanette expedition last summer and caught myself thinking what a great show it would be.

Still I enjoy this. The production value is through the roof.

i bought a book in grade school about the franklin expedition, not long after they exhumed the three bodies buried on beechey island. i still have it. the franklin expedition has always fascinated me. there are a handful of interesting documentaries out there, but here's a quick vid with some interesting pictures and hightlights.

while i've not read the book this show is based on, i am loving the show. the supernatural element is almost unnecessary, given the hell those sailors went through just dealing with the elements and whatnot. regardless, i've been pleased with what i've seen so far (only 7 episodes have aired in the united states to date).

just this week, the united kingdom has granted ownership of the recently discovered shipwrecks to canada. they've been doing lots of diving and exploring of the site, so between this show and the latest developments, i've been quite giddy lately.
