Penny Dreadful: City Of Angels (TV series)

Nothing like the original Penny Dreadful series at all, but I'm enjoying it so far...

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. I’ve yet to see it, but I’m interested! Loved the original show, but as you say, this looks to be an entirely different beast.

I remember trying the original, but didn't get into it.

I saw this listed on New Shows on Sky a week or so ago, and the time and place setting intrigued me, although with so much going on right now there's no room for new shows really. I've got a stack of discs to gradually get through, and various DVR'd things, and then Netflix (so I'm well stocked for viewing material!)

Report back on here, anyone who watches it, to give us your thoughts and whether it's worthwhile.

It's utterly different. The only similarities seem to be just a supernatural aspect and one of the actors
