    New Korean Zombie movie #Alive

Korea seems to be the place for new Zombie movies at the moment.

I am going to give the Korean version a watch at the weekend. The remake is due out in October. Agreed that is weird that the American one was made around the same time as the source material unless the distributer has sat on the Korean version for a while?

Quick research suggests both films are based on a script by Matt Naylor. Both are simply based on the same script. Possibly he sold the US rights to Lionsgate and the worldwide rights to Netflix. Seems to be a mess, and highly unusual for this to happen. Usually a company wants to own worldwide rights to a property, but this is obviously not the case with this one. Highly unusual.

Watching it now and it's certainly not very good. Overacting, silly raptor-zombies, never suspenseful and stupid characters.

The lazy "sudden helicopter reveal" you complained about in T4 is in. I groaned.

    Watchable, but average...
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. I didn't like it all too much. The female actress was great in this film. Another actor in this film did a great job but I don't want to give it away, it's kind of a spoiler. I wasn't too keen on this films script and screen writing. Some of the scenes felt contrived for the sake of doing something cool/funny etc.
I'd say, if you haven't seen Train to Busan yet, just watch that instead.
