    Midsommar (film)

    Came out a couple of years ago, but seems to be getting some good reviews?

    Dude, where you've been?

    This film is from 2019.

    Anyway, it's arthouse horror. Pretty to look at and thematically strong but weak characters and no suspense.

    Some good scenes. Unique setting. However the entire third act is more of a montage than any actual plotting. The main character becomes completely passive by the end and just goes along for the ride, which makes my engagement in her plight very low.

    I enjoyed this. It’s not as good as Hereditary before it, but still worth a viewing. Several VERY memorable set pieces, it just doesn’t come together quite as well as his previous film.
