    Quite impressed with the pics my friend's been getting since starting his new hobby - Not bad from shitty weather UK

    He's bought a good second hand telescope and a fairly good stand (which can track objects across the sky). He then has an adapted SLR camera in it, all feeding into a little rasberry pi unit to capture the photos.

    He then takes multiple long exposures and 'stacks' them to build up the final image.

    Probably high hundreds of pounds of expense (so far).
