Neverwinter Nights 2: how is it?

See that Neverwinter Nights 2 is now available. Anyone playing it? How is system performance on your PC? Is it worth getting for $50, or should one wait for the inevitable patch?

Latest Dungeons & Dragons game from Obsidian & Atari. Was a big fan of the first Neverwinter Nights and the two sequels so decided to take the plunge and buy it early. Unfortunately it looks like this game wasn't ready for prime time. Current version of the game with 1.01 patch and the critical rebuild is SLOW. Disabling all graphics options to minimum it stutters badly on a P4 1.7 with 500mb of memory and a 128 meg video card. People on the Bioware forums are reporting problems with brand new Alienware and similar high end Pentium 4 3.5 gigahertz processors and 256 megabyte video cards. The NWN2 graphics code needs to be optimized. Atari pushed the product out the door before it was complete. Hopefully these issues will eventually be addressed. Until it's fixed I'd recommend getting a copy of Oblivion instead of Neverwinter Nights 2.
