"Hide & Creep" Movie & "Evil Dead":

Started watching the low budget zombie flick, "Hide & Creep". It is pretty good and reminds me of a Kevin Smith film. You know, a bunch of talk about nothing in particular, but you still want to watch it because he makes a point.

In the beginning of the movie, one of the main stars is a video store clerk who is talking about zombie films and says that "The Evil Dead" isn't about zombies, but Candarian Demons that take over the people's bodies.

I believe this was brought up before here, but think about it, regardless of the method of how a 'body' dies and becomes reanimated, isn't it still a zombie?

I guess you can argue that the people aren't actually 'killed' before becoming host to these demons, but some of them are such as Ash's girlfriend.

Regardless of virus from outerspace, military bio-chemical or demon possession, couldn't they still be called zombies?

    Hmmm???

As long as they died before their bodies were possessed by demons it's safe to consider them zombies.

Zombies and the possessed from the Evil Dead and the demons from the Demons series are still pretty much the same thing. They're all possessed by an unearthly force that brings them back to life to wreak havoc on the world. In the Demons series, the victims didn't have to die first though. They could be possessed at anytime.

I consider something a zombie if it is brought back to "life" after having already died ...

Now - 28 Days Later, not once do any of the "infected" die - EVER. They are not zombies.

lol, I might have to check that film out, I've had the same "Candarian Demon" discussion with friends before, preceded by "if you want to get technical".

Legend has it that it was written by the Dark Ones,
    "Necronomicon Ex Mortis",
roughly translated "Book Of The Dead".

The book served as a passageway to the evil worlds beyond.

    It was written long ago,
when the seas ran red with blood,
it was this blood that was used to ink the book.

    In the year 1300AD,
    the book disappeared...
