    Man, I am drooling...

Nerd stuff, but think of all the crap you can store on just one of these puppies! Literature, music, video, porn...

That is awesome, 3.9 terabytes of info on a single disk!

I will say it first... imagine all the porn you could store on one of those babies!

Man, that's pricey. That's a lot of money for a cd and a player. Do you think the next generation consoles will use this or something similar?

im still boggling at the size difference between laserdiscs and dvd's on the other link.

man who in the right mind would think laserdiscs were a better option, there much to big to use as drinks coasters!

Laserdisks remind me of record-sized cds. We used laserdisks in class during Fall 1994. That was the last time I ever saw one.

Those HVD's, now that's what I'm talking about.

Screw this HD-DVD/Blu-Ray stuff, which is just a glorified DVD coming along too soon when it's not really needed, I want a proper sized leap - and that's HVD, now that's some of that laserbeam, space-age sh*t I've been waiting for.

    Actually, Dawg said that first...

I wonder how much one of those HVD's would cost.

I think Blueray (stoopid name) and HDDVD are both going to flop. None wants to upgrade again. I finally got a dvd player only about a year and a half ago. and Im not the only one.
Most people dont have High Def TVs and its going to be a long time until it dominates.
Plus the players are not backward compatiable very often with DVDs.
I think its another marketing gimmick becasue they are afraid the DVD player market, and discs I guess, are going to flatten out like cds after people restock all their fav films on DVD.
