Q- As October 31st is the last day of the bright half of the year, the next day also meant the beginning of Winter, which the Celts often associated with human death, and with the slaughter of livestock to provide meat for the coming Winter. The Celts also believed that on October 31, the boundary separating the dead from the living became blurred.
I know all about that Samhain stuff and it means nothing to me I'm afraid. When I said Halloween season I meant all that pop culture and the modern way of celebrating it because that's the era I live in. Sweets, horror movies and a hosepipe at the ready for the trick or treaters.

That teaser was really stupid. Useless. (though I DO appreciate the link)
The theme was more of a remix than a remake.
I am very dubious of Rob Zombies Skills. Its possible Devils Rejects was the fluke and 1000 corpses is his real skill level. I am pretty much alone it seems in that opinion. If this is good I will revise it, but I truly hated 1000 corpses.

1000 Corpses is a grower and it has some genuinely brilliant moments but it's nothing groundbreaking. TDR was amazing, if Rob's skill level was 1000 Corpses then he would never have been able to make that movie. I just think he's twisting the Halloween teaser because he doesn't want to give anything away. It's Myers childhood that he's concentrating on and that clip obviously has some sort of significance (although I have no clue as to what it is). I know this movie will rock (some reports are even claiming that Zombie is gonna TOP Carpenter's version) but it's just a matter of waiting it out. Teasers are always s**t. A couple of scene flashes followed by the title. Let's wait until it's released and then we'll see. And yeah, this needs to come out for Halloween and not Summer, I wouldn't be surprised it he changed that.

I will have to wait and see. I love the original. It was described as "very gory" at the time and there is zero gore in it. The nastiest thing in it is the coat hanger in the shape's eye and its all in shadow. I am pretty sure it will be a better remake than yawn 04 becasue I am sure he understands the allure of the original.

I love the original too. Dawn of the Dead and Halloween are in my top 5 of all time. I went ballistic when they announced the Dawn remake, which to me was sacrilegious. When they announced that Zombie was tackling Halloween I was like, "What? Um, okay then." I guess you could say I got faith in the guy. TDR was a step away from being the perfect movie, I hope Zombie takes that last step with Halloween.

Yes, The Devil's Rejects was brilliant. Im wearing the T-shirt right now actually. lol. Instant classic. 1,000 Corpses, I like that too but Rejects was better.

Hmmm I think that would be kind of odd...

Donald Pleasence - short, old, chubby, white.
Ken Foree - extremely tall, not-so-old, not-chubby, black.
