    More mic's... cheap boom mics?

    I'm pretty sure a while back (old forums) someone posted a link to a site that told you what products to use to create a cheap/effective boom mic. Does anybody have the link or can give me the info? I don't want to just buy any random mic from RadioShack because most of them hardly pick up sound unless it's right on top of it.
