Could you imagine Romero acting like that with his actors? I mean, yeah when I'm filming, **** happens and it gets really frusterating sometimes and yeah we can get a little heated now and then, but I have never yelled at anyone like that before. Thats pretty ****ty, yet really funny. Yes, there's a documentary that came with the 2 disc Shining in the UK. It's a 60 min on-set doc and Duvall is close to physical breakdown in a few scenes. The scene where she swings the bat at Nicholson, her tears are real... watch her performance again, it's quite intense. Good technique used by Kubrick. lol. A good director knows how to push and challenge their actors to get them mentally where they want them. But, also I'm sure I'd be pretty crazy too if i had to work with Shelley Duvall.
