I just finished reading this story in the fiction section and I was really impressed! I don't want to spoil it for anyone but its got a new twist that I really liked. Check it out!!!

I agree with Coke Junkie. I thought that the twist in the tale was excellent. The whole story appeared very polished. In short, I really like it.

    Looking forward to new pieces.

    Cheers

Thanks guys. Good to know you got a kick out of my story.

You'll encounter more zombie mayhem from me in Undead 3: Flesh Feast, out this August from Permuted Press. It's a truly brilliant collection (as are all the Undead anthos), and a dream come true to be included in the TOC alongside so many great horror writers.

Doug Wojtowitz, who writes Don Pendleton's Mack Bolan series, was very encouraging about my contribution to Undead 3: Flesh Feast, saying:

Richard D. Moore's Basic Training - this story wasn't just powerful - This story was the god-damn global killer comet that exterminated the dinosaurs.

    -

If you've yet to read any of the Undead anthologies, or any of the other titles from Permuted Press, I would recommend getting your arse over to their site and ordering from them right now.

Thanks again to everyone who keeps sending me so much positive feedback about 'Gunfight'.

Additional information about my fiction (in print and online) can be found on My Space, at:

Everyone from this site is very welcome to add me.

I liked the story as well. If I didn't remember to send a comment when I read it, thank you for taking the time to post.

I liked the story particularly the different take on aspects of humankinds suvival. What I didn't get so much is why the protagonist reacts so strongly to the actions of his partners, it seemed like nothing that would have been too out of the ordinary postfall.

    Zombie Anthology

Just received some great news and thought I'd share it. My story 'A Wake in the Abyss' has been accepted for inclusion in the upcoming anthology 'History Is Dead'. The anthology's editor is Kim Paffenroth, who won the Bram Stoker Award last year for Gospel of the Living Dead.

Dr. Paffenroth recently said of his selections for the anthology:

We have lots of the most varied zombie mayhem you'll ever see:

    Crazed cannibal carnies!
    Doomed zombie romance!
Mad scientists bent on world domination!
The undead roaming battlefields, monasteries, and hospitals!
And the three most unlikey historical figures ever to encounter the living dead!

It's been a wild ride, and it's going to be a thrilling read. - KP
