XBOX 360 update causing a slew of problems.

Most of my friends are having the same problems that I'm experiencing with my 360 after this update. It has frozen twice, and every time I do something with the guide it takes up to 2-3 minutes to process... in the mean time it just sits there frozen in time. Call Of Duty 4 keeps freezing, also, and it's near impossible to get into any multiplayer games. Tons of people over at the XBOX forums are having the same problems as me. Some worse than others. This is really ticking me off, considering I just finally bought a new 360 a couple of weeks ago after my SECOND ONE broke and I was XBOXless for a couple months. I HATE MICROSOFT! I DON'T THINK THEY EVEN TEST THE SH!t THEY DO IN THE UPDATES!

I haven't downloaded the update yet, I was going to do it in a few minutes, but now I will wait a day or two.

You're one of the like 3% of people I've seen say that. Lucky bastid. I'm having no probs either and all my friends/family who own 360's (like maybe 10-15 or so) are still on their launch consoles and are happy bunnies. Had a game pause on me once about 6 months ago (Elder Scrolls) but fair enough, I was playing it for like 7 hours non-stop.

just updated mine, crashed at first, but mines a recon unit adn does that sometimes, it took a while to load the new live blade thing but its running pretty smooth now, havent tried a game et.

Go ahead and get the update. It seems to be running smooth now. It was only up until about 9 PM yesterday that everyone was having problems. What makes me really mad though, is Microsoft deleted all of the threads on the subject, now that it's running smooth, in what I assume is an attempt to cover up the fact that they messed up big time.

The issue I'm having with it is that there does not seem to be a method to connecting to a PC for video anymore... only "media Center PC's" I used to be able to connect to my PC just fine.... It bugs me as this update was supposed to have better video format handeling.
