movies that have come out of the outpouring of zombie/post apoc flicks in the last few years?

note: 28 days later is included in the discussion.


i'd probably say that shaun was the best of the lot. while i'd go for house of the dead as the worst. land and the dawn remake would be somewhere in the middle. i don't love either of them as much as some of you nor do i hate them as much either. i have yet to see diary so that didn't figure into the equation.

the resident evil movies i found to be a passable way to spend 90 mins but nothing that made me do back flips. again they are movies that i don't like as much as some nor do i hate them with the violence that some people on the boards do.

28 days later has an incredible first half but runs out of steam in the second half.

ghey08 resembles something that slid down charlotte the harlots leg near 22 acacia ave and wound up landing on film.


i'll probably think of some more in a bit.

I would have to go with Shaun, 28 days/weeks, Land, and Diary being the best of the bunch.

Dawn04 is in the middle and the Resident Evil films just flat out suck, imo.

there is one i did forget about. i like zombie diaries a lot too. i liked it more the second time through, though i still think it a bit depressing and morose - even for a zombie flick.

i'd have to agree with bassman that the resident evil movies are worthless. not even gonna give ghey 08 a chance, notld 3d was pretty lame, contagium sucked.

i enjoyed both 28 days/weeks movies, shaun of the dead was great, land was pretty decent, i liked dawn 04, and diary rocked tha muthafuggen house!:thumbsup:

If 28 days Later is allowed then I'm gonna have to say that. Hey, it might've spawned a bunch of rip offs *cough* Yawn 04 *cough* Ghey 08 *cough* but it's the best of a bad bunch. My second is probably Land with Zombie Diaries a good third.

The Resi's and the remakes were the worst.

Dawn 04, Zombie Diaries, 28 Days, Shaun, all good movies that I enjoyed and bought on DVD.

Land was a major disapointment, but even I wouldn't put it down with any of the real dross (Night 3D, Contagion, Ghey 08 etc).

Looking forward to Diary and .Rec this year. :cool:

full concurrence. Shaun is my favorite, with the 28s and new Romero flicks just under it. Resident Evil is loser-iffic. I must see zombie diaries, however.

You guys forgot the stinker of the bunch and it was a lost film till a couple of years ago, its called Mansion Of The Living Dead, originally made in 1985 by jess franco and was suppose to be his reenvisioning of the tombs of the blind dead, well let me tell yeah, they didn't do any of us avid zombie watchers any favors by finding that lost film causes its more like a lesbo love fest than a zombie flick

yeah, i liked ROTLD 3 also. I hope I'm not in the minority here. For what it's worth, ROTLD 4 was awful, but I haven't seen ROTLD 5. No point, really.
