MinionZombie

Having finally seen Diary (opening day in the UK, woo, see my "*experience*" post for an explanation of, well, my experience seeing it), I got thinking about the gore in both films.
Ultimately - which film's gore do you prefer?
It's a toughie for me...Land was a slaughter-fest by comparison, the quantity was much higher (no doubt because of the budget differences of course), and it was awesome ... but what Diary had, while not as frequent, I thought stood out more.
The gags were stronger set pieces, three that really stuck out and entertained the nuts off me were:
1) Gurney zombie - surely a reference to Day of the Dead - it rolls over and sits up, it's guts falling out, but then - in a slice of comedy - falls off the gurney onto it's own spilled innards. :D
2) The Amish guy - skewers himself and the zombie attacking him from behind, through the head. Superb!
3) Final shot zombie - the one right at the end, the female zombie hung from a tree by her own hair. Her face is severed in two by a shotgun blast, the body from the nose down collapses to the floor while the eyes of the remaining bit of head (brains unaffected) look around (you could say that too is a bit of a throwback to Day of the Dead as well).
