It looks like they are simplifying the overly obtuse rules that was the 3.0 and 3.5 editions. It is harking back to the flavor of 1st Edition AD&D.

Anyway, I got the core set pre-ordered on Amazon. They gave me the regular discount plus 5% off for some reason.
