First they repatent the dreamcast trademark, now there asking people to register them and they give you a @dreamcast email account.
...summin's going on form the sly devil that is sega, and im guessing this news so soon after sonic appears in brawl is not a coincidence.
my 2 cents?, im not expecting a dreamcast 2, but maybe there relaunching there online thing and redesigning it, there are loads of games like phantasy star online that still have a cult following that some of us missed out on so thats what i recon it is.
ive still got my dreamcast browser disc adn keyboard and mouse:cool:
wonder if this pimp'd still work on there anyway.

W-w-w-wait a second, let's not get ahead of ourselves. I have it on 'so-so' authority that it's just a fan thing for the Dreamcast's tenth anniversary. Members will receive information on the latest games (they still make 'em in Japan peeps), updates on 360 Live Arcade additions, and yeah, the rumour mill is going s**tzo about the re-launch of the DC's online functions to all registered members.
But saying that, my info could be wrong and SEGA might well have something brewing in their secret laboratories. With Nintendo's recent shock success, it wouldn't surprise me if they were planning a comeback console. Let's face it, judging by all the DC fans on the web pledging their love, it would probably fly off the shelves quicker than a cancer cure.

I would hate if the Dreamcast relaunched it's online capability... remember, folks, it's DIAL-UP! Now, if they came out with a new peripheral that allowed you to somehow hook up cable internet to your DC, then THAT would rule.

I'm sure they could get it workable. Dial up or whatnot, it would be worth the hassle just to boot up the Shenmue Passport and have it WORK.

The very first time I viewed this site was via SEGA Dreamcast....my first exposure to the "wide wide world of web" was through that machine (I couldn't open stories that were zipped in the fiction section or watch porn mpegs dammit)!
Sold it on a long time ago though, and yes MikePizzof, dial up was a killer on the old wallet. :D

The writers for that site are such douchebags. First they post a story talking about how cool/wild it is that Sega is asking Dreamcast owners to register blah blah blah.... then once they find out it was fake, they say "we really hope you didn't bite" as if they knew all along. Give me a f*ckin break.

the cast was one dam good system, even more impressed you have a copy of headhunter , one of the beter games that never made it to N.A
yea they axed it way to soon, was really looking forward to propeller arena. For the time it was way ahead. One of my most favorite systems behind the master system( loved those 3d goggles)
btw there is a unoffical dreamcast 2 , sorta, the xbox. same team that assisted sega with the windows ce intergration , also helped design the xbox. That bill gates for you , help u out than kill u lol
Have to say the game design was far ahead, took a couple years before any good quality titles came out on other ystems , will the cast had a nice library of grade a titles. hell i even bought seaman to check it out.now that sammy owns them and they are turning a profit cant see any sega products other than software emulators.
I was really hoping for a sega/nintendo merger when the cast died, think they would be a unstopable force considering the amount of catalogued titles they have.
