I wonder how many eleventeen year old nooblets will buy it cos it says "from the director of Dawn of the Dead", but they'd be thinking Yawn04 rather than the proper, original & best Dawn?

I hope that 1 disc becomes 2 ... and packed with awesome extras. Land had a half-assed DVD, so I want a proper doings this time round. There should at least be a proper making of and behind the scenes stuff, cos wasn't there that guy filming a bunch of stuff during it's production? I can't remember the guy's name now, but there was a short taster making of thingy he put up...I think it was during the shooting of the hospital scene.

Anyway, I'll be getting this on Region 1 most likely, unless R2 has more and I find out in plenty of time in advance.

Strange that there is absolutely no mention at all of any R1 release yet

Amazon & Play are both claiming that it is indeed the release date on their pre-order page for this movie.

Might go for the R1 version myself if it's going to be released more than a month earlier over in the US.

Same here. I just hope they both have the same features. I don't wanna buy the R1 only for the R2 to get some extra special feature over the R1 version.

:p back atcha (even though I ain't got that one)

Still, look at some of the spiffy DVD packages you greedy Yanks get, I still can't get over the "Troy" Ultimate Collectors Edition/Directors Cut" I got from Amazon US....fooking awesome...as for the Bladerunner super-duper edition you got with the brief case and all the other toys...well, just don't mention it to me when I've had a few beers, I might get violent! :D

One day, all DVD's will come with this level of packaing and special goodies!

I got the Blade Runner 5 disc HD-DVD without the briefcase from amazon US for 16 squid. Incredible value for money compared to rip off Britain.

I'm gonna wait for the R2 release of Diary cause I want it in HD. :D

I got the standard UK version for about £18 (5 discs, metal tin, film cell, art cards etc), just felt a bit sick that the Americans were getting the brief case, oragami unicorn and model spinner car on top of what we got. :(

I find that I do check Amazon US first when I am looking for "special" DVD's nowerdays though, I got the Kingdom of Heaven 4 disc edition for about £14 from amoz US, compared to £25 for the UK 4 disc edition, also snagged a nice "Master and Commander SE" (with extra goodies) that we can't get over here. :)

bassman - I originally bought the R1 Creepshow, but got the R2 special edition recently for a fiver.

As for Blade Runner 5-discer, I ordered it yesterday for £9.99 on a one-day-only offer. Not the tin one, but I don't care about that, the really important stuff is on the discs ... but fair play with all the really fancy packaging if you're a Blade Runner whore or whatever, s'all cool.

Same here about the discs. Plus your getting into import tax territory with the briefcase version. BTW, the Blade Runner documentary Dangerous Days is incredible. :)

Ugh, import duties. Tell me about it.

I got the Ultimate Dawn DVD when it came out (had it pre-ordered too) and ended up paying an extra 13 bloody quid cos of import and Royal Mail duties/expenses.

Importing stuff into the UK is a right pain in the ass.
