http://wikimapia.org might be your friend here... Do a search for 'Dawn of the Dead' or 'Night of the Living Dead' for example...

Well, one would need more info than you gave to accomplish such a task. Why do you want the map? Do you want where the movies are set, or where were they filmed? Whichever is the answer to that question, a map of Florida would be needed as well. Time periods as to when they were made, where they exist in a movie-viewing universe, of as they relate to each other?

PS..that is a cool link Neil, for those interested, here is a direct link to the Monroeville Mall.

No offense, but you're also asking for someone to do quite a lot of work. First, the map would have to be huge unless you simply want a general map of western PA with a few basic markers. I don't believe that what you're looking for is possible with just one map.

Wikimapia is fun. Here's Evans City Cemetery (the industrial site just below it is mislabeled as the cemetery): Evans City Cememtery (http://wikimapia.org/#lat=40.761707&lon=-80.063746&z=17&l=0&m=a&v=2)

Agreed, lots of work, but how cool that would be.

I assume homeboy is looking to visit these sites like many GAR fans like to do. I for one would love to see something like this if anyone out there had the time to put this together.

Cool Evans City Cemetery view, though!

You got me stumped, though it could be the former location of the farmhouse from NOLD? Also looks kind of like the dudes yuppie dreamhouse from Bruiser. Just guesses, of course.

Do tell, Dubious.

i'm your huckleberry (or at least i'll hazard a guess) the original location for Notld?

at first i thought it was the remake location but i believe that is in washington, PA.

slightly off topic: i found the kid behind the counter at the 7/11 in evans city most helpful when i was out that way.

Brother Scipio: I missed getting to Evans City when I came out to PA back in the day, though I caught Monroville and most of Pittsburgh proper. Planning on visiting again soon and will be headed out to lay flowers in Mr. Rodgers' grave, RIP. So do you have any feedback about Evans City that you can share? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

One dude told me that ethnic types (I'm Japanese-American) generally are not welcome out in the sticks of PA, so I really don't know what to expect. Coming from Los Angeles, I don't know what to make of feedback like that!

actually the folks out there are really cool and very used to people coming to see/find notld sites (at least this was my experience). the cemetary can be a bit tricky the first time because the road (franklin) isn't well marked (at least it wasn't 2 years ago) so i stopped and asked the kid behind the counter at 7/11 where to find things and he was more than happy to help me out.

as far as ethnic types go - i wouldn't know. i am the most white person on the planet but i don't think you'll have a problem. like folks everywhere there are undoubtedly some idiots mixed in but in all reality you probably won't have a hard time.

dubious comforts and philly swat would be the people to ask for the real lowdown. those 2 know of every possible location to visit and where it is at. i am, at best, a casual observer compared to them.

As am I, and I would guess most would be too in comparison to Dubious and Philly.

On the ethnicity issue, I figure you are probably correct. I didn't really get a racially charged feeling when I was in Monroeville, and there are plenty of Asians all over Pitt, so I figure it couldn't be any worse than my home town of Los Angeles since like any other place in the world we've plenty of knuckleheads here too!

Thanks for the input Scipio.

You are very close; in fact, you mentioned it in your later post. It's Franklin Road, south of Evans City Cemetery. The opening four shots of NOTLD were filmed on this stretch of road, up until when the car pulls into the cemetery entrance. This photo shows the filming sequence. A development is now located where the opening shot was filmed (under construction in this photo).

I think C5 was giving everyone a hint with the driving emoticon. ;)

The original farmhouse location isn't visible on wikimapia, but you can find it on other online satellite maps. Yeah, I've trekked around the area quite a bit, but I'm not nearly as knowledgeable about the film locations as Philly Swat or Axlish.

Hm, Dubious, I was convinced it was the spot from Dawn that all the hicks were hanging out at. D'oh!

Dude, if I am not mistaken there was some other dude who posted a map here with those spots outlined (the redneck possee and shooting range -"Over by yon car!") I'll have to search it out.

That's located somewhere around here:
