Why Samuel not get credit on imdb.com?
Why not more Samuel informations?
Who hell is that Samuel guy anyhowings?
Amish? No! Really?
How many writings with the chalk?
And what the hell with the scyth right in face?

well folks, samuel was played by an actor named R.D. Reid

he is simply listed as "farmer" in the credits. he is probably best know for being in the nero wolfe tv show.

he was also in dawn 04.

uh, no but the guy who played glenn in dawn 04 is the dude who played samuel.

Great thread.

Personally, I would definitely shell out some bucks to buy a shirt that said "Amish. No Car" or "I am Samuel. Hello"

Cheers to Scipio for noticing that Samuel was the same actor as Glenn, though much less creepy as Amish than as the crossdresser. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

i found it odd that he wasn't credited at imdb. so i did a google search for sites listing the credits of diary of the dead. one of the places i looked at was the diary page at yahoo moives:

r.d. reid is credited as "farmer" in the yahoo credits. after looking at a couple of pics (including the one i linked) i am convinced this guy was samuel.

Yes, it looks like him, and i am pretty certain it is him. So the question we must ask now is why?

Why no official credit for diary of the dead when it should have been blatantly obvious to all involved, including old jam jars himself, that Samuel was destined to be a massive zombie blasting cult icon?

i've wondered about that as well. i don't know what the possible reason could be for there not being a credit on imdb. then again, imdb is by means infallible. i toyed with the idea of editing diary's imdb page to add him, then decided not to.

it is kind of nice for it to be mysterious. if other folks are interested in finding out who played samuel, let them do the searching i did.

I recognized him as the cross dresser from Dawn04 as soon as I saw him in Diary. And when I originally saw him in Dawn04, I was immediately reminded of his classic role as "Scientist".:lol:

I have to say this. . .while I like the character of Samuel, his death was utter and complete BS!! That was a childish imagined gore scene that just should not have been translated onto the screen. A scythe through his own head? AND the head behind? come on :rolleyes: that would take a herculean feat of strength, and a lot more leverage. Just silly

For cryin out loud, man! Marty's principal, Mr Strickland, looks wayyy tougher than this guy. I don't really see any resemblance between the two other than the completely bald heads.
