Now as much as i like batman or superman the green lantern stories have allways been more my cup of tea, i never really dug the main characters but the rest of the mythos and whatnot was really intricate and now its getting even more so in the 3rd sotry act in a trilogy dubbed "in blackest night" in wich 5 more lantern corps will rise up to go to war with the green and yellow (sinestro) corps whilst the universe is showered with black power rings from a source unkown.
the result?
These rings will bring back EVERY dead dc character as part of this intergalactic legion of undead as the black lanterns, and the biggets rumour?

That there leader will be bruce wayne as batman is rumoured to be the one of the big 3 whos gonna die at the end of countdown. seeing as hes the only one whos actually a biologically nromal human thats sound logic but damn, hes been offered a green one multiple times, a yellow one once and now a black one?

heres the teaser posters and a spread pic that rocks.

What im most interested in with this is what the hell there doing with batman, granted the one on the cover is the new batman, the guy who used to be nightwing, tim drake i think. but he was just missing in batman rip, in final crisis he died, and in blackest night zero from free comic book day the black hand pulled his skull out his grave saying "the blackest night falls form the skies, darkness falls as all light dies, we crave your hearts and your demise, by my black hand the dead shall rise!"

-So batmans dead for real?, then who was in that cave in arizona?!?

Could be cool, but I haven't even given the Marvel Zombies books a try, because that idea just turns my stomach., always seemed like a lame cash-grab gambit.

Now this, coming from DC, may actually be something good. If they are committing for it to be consistent with the main DC continuity (well, as consistent as anything is in DC continuity these days) then they may feel forced to stop and think about what they're doing.

I'm a big Marvel booster, always have been, but I do give DC a lot of props for stopping to think about some of the products they put out (not always, but you know what I mean). Marvel is always bottom line and that ends up showing in their choice of the wider story arcs & cross-over events too often, it seems.

So let's hope for some quality stuff and I may pick up a trade at...some poinmt ;)
