wow. damn interesting article. planet hunting is one of those areas where a huge amount of research is going on, so i would expect breakthroughs and new tech like this to keep coming at a relatively rapid rate.

i see you have been bitten by the spaceflightnow bug:)

that place is easily one of the best sites of its type on the web.

The frustrating thing is... OK we can detect they are there... But that's about it... Not even a picture of it, yet alone a simple probe dropping through its atmosphere :(

but we don't need a simple probe to measure its atmosphere. that can be done by studying the light from the planet's parent star during a transit by the planet.
