Recurring characters? (Minor spoiler)

Did anyone else notice that the character of Brubaker, from Land of the Dead, seems to appear in this film as well? Well, it could just be a coincidence, but the same actor portrays and army guy in both films. Same haircut and everything. Only difference is he's an asshole in this one and seems alright in Land.

Also, the guy who plays the Butcher zombie in Land shows up as well. But not in a Butcher outfit, so probably not meant to be the same character.

Likely not the same characters. Definitely not the butcher, and most likely not Brubaker. He's a National Guardsman in control of his own crew in Diary, and doesn't strike me as a guy that would be able to survive until Land. And definitely too selfish to join up with Kaufman's crew anyway.
