Charles Craig, the radio and TV newscaster from the original Night of the Living Dead will make his first-ever convention appearance at Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors (http://www.fangocon.com) in Secaucus, NJ on June 20-22.

This is your chance to meet the face and voice behind the film's trademark radio and TV broadcasts. Mr. Craig also portrayed a featured ghoul, seen devouring intestines during the infamous gore-fest that followed the truck explosion.

Visit Chuck Craig's MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/livingdeadnewsroom) for info, photos and to chat with Living Dead cinema's most famous newsman.

Was planning to head out to Monroeville for the Dawn screening at the Mall. But with the status of that event now up in the air:annoyed:, we're hopeful but looking at Secaucus as a possible alternative.

Know if any special NOTLD events (screenings, Q&A's, etc) are scheduled for the Fangoria tip?

Wow, what happened to the DAWN screening?

Charles Craig will be signing in the vendor's room all day Friday & Saturday, and for the first couple of hours on Sunday. Fangoria's schedule shows a Night of the Living Dead panel taking place on Sunday.

The only party saying anything definitive is Alamo Drafthouse, and they're saying they've dropped their sponsorship and the event is cancelled. Meanwhile, the Mall and Time & Space Toys are apparently trying to work something out to salvage the screening, but have yet to say anything one way or the other. And Horror Hound, which aparently has nothing to do with the screening, doesn't want to blow things by saying anything other than nothing is certain.

I'm hopeful, but won't be a bit surprised if the bottom drops out on this.
