View Full Version : Dawn screening at Monroeville Mall back on!

I'm so relieved, after hearing that it was canceled I was pretty bummed. Neither Horrorhound Weekend or Alamo Drafthouse are involved anymore, but the screening is going on as planned. Starting Friday, you can pick up tickets at Toy Galaxy, located inside the mall. More info available here:

Me and a few friends are driving from Cleveland, anyone else going to this momentous screening?

as far as im concerned,they should be thankful people still trek to this mall to see it with all the attitude and grief they give anytie anyone wants to see the mall.


it should be one weekend a month where they screen it in the mall just to pay homage for that mall still being open because of dawn filming there.

i mean cmon

That would be awesome. There's no film I'd rather see on the big sceen than Dawn...and at Monroeville Mall, that's sick.

It was cool just in being able to say you were there, but the event wasn't much of a success. They couldn't dim the lights, so the picture was hard to see...the sound system wasn't very good either. Probably 25-30% off the crowd was still there after an hour.

On a personal note, at the screening got my pic taken with Mike Christopher in the Monroeville Mall...I thought that was pretty sweet.

Wow. You estimate that maybe 2/3rds of the crowd walked? That's terrible.

Oh well, at least you can still boast and say you did it.

Oh FFS! That's terrible... All that effort and potential and they completely f*** it up! What a lost opportunity!! What did the organisers have to say?

It sucks because everything was in place for an awesome showing: they gave away popcorn and drinks, a few of the actors said a few words before it began, and everyone seemed to be in good spirits.

It wasn't Toy Galaxy's fault (awesome store, by the way) , the mall has an automated light system, and the organizers weren't able to change them due to mall policy. So if anyone is to blame, it's mall management.

I still had a great time though. I went to the upper floor as the movie was playing. Hearing it in the background while looking down the long, empty corridor made me smile. Just being there for the weekend was awesome.

Edit: The only thing that really pissed me off was overhearing more than one person demand their money back. How rude is that? It was only $5, and it's all went to charity. People are assholes.

Before you watch these, be warned, there not that good. I did them on a camera that has a video option (not a video camera) and the batteries were dying on me. The picture isn't perfect and the sound isn't very good (sound familiar?). This is more just so people who weren't there can get an idea of how it was (which these are good for).
