Ok, I bought a DVD burner about a year ago, never put it to use. Lately I have a friend going to school for animation that has been sending me a lot of video, so I figure I finally have a chance to put it to use. He's been sending files as divex, avi, etc. I have a converter to convert them to DVD no prob, now I just need to burn them.

Much to my chagrin however, I find that the Nero that came with the drive is Nero EXPRESS, & doesn't do mpeg/DVD-NSTC! (why you would sell a DVD burner w/out the software to do DVD's is beyond me...).

I believe they want about $25-$50 to upgrade, which I don't have right now. I found at least one program that has a 15 day trial that I'm using for now, but it's about $50 as well.

Since there are a lot of very tech savvy types on HPOTD, I thought one of you might be able to tell me if there are any good freeware programs about that just let you burn your DVD files to DVD?

Failing that, what's the most reasonably price or at the very least which do you prefer?

Thanks in advance.:)

*EDIT* After doing some reading on Wikkipedia I see a couple mentioned ImgBurn & DVD Decrypter. Any opinion on these? Will they do what I'm trying to do? When I get home tonight I may give 'em a spin

This claims to do NTSC (windows only). there is a free one and a 14 day trial download for the purchase version, so give it go, see if it does the job for you.

There might be something even better on their homepage, maybe worth you having a little poke around in there...
