So my horror games site/blog/thing is in need of an update, so right now im coming up with a good banner for the top, right now im just testing some stuff, so right now heres my first thang' im testing for how cool it looks.

picture 2:

becomes

heres what i did.
save two pictures.
open one in, in my case, adobe photoshop cs3.
then copy the second image in a layer above the first one in the same file.
on the box that lists all the layers theres a sqaure with a circle inside it, the layer mask button, click that.
select the paintbrush and make it black. now when you "paint the upper layer" your actually erasing it, and painting the bottom layer on there, sort of.
then you can lower the gradient on the brush to alter the transparency instead of purely deleteing, this makes for easy blending.
all in all its just 5 minutes work , might be more fiddly with a mouse, im using a cheap, but good, £20 wacom bamboo graphics tablet.
so what do you think?, does it blend well?
