:annoyed:

This same thing happened after Batman Begins. "Crispin Glover has been cast as Joker!". "Robin Williams as Joker!". Blah, blah, friggin blah.

Nolan is probably still on vacation after TDK. Not only that, but he's probably not even thinking about a sequel, nor has he agreed to do one. So at this point, it's all just BS.

This sounds about as good as the rumor of Cher being catwoman. I like Depp...but no. Just no. Enough with all these rumors already...

Besides, Robin Williams would make a better Riddler, and Chris Nolan has worked with Robin, and wants to work with him again.

You can't see him doing the role well?

No, i'm sure he would bring alot of respect and credibility to the role and I think he's a good actor, but I don't see Nolan going for someone like Depp. I mean after Batman Begins, who would have ever guessed Nolan would choose someone like Heath Ledger for The Joker? It wasn't a mainstream choice like all these Depp/Jolie rumors.

Besides....how do we even know that The Riddler is going to be in the next film? This is just some fanboy's wishlist that somehow got duplicated enough to be posted on movie sites throughout the web...

DJ - I like Williams and he was great under Nolan's direction, but he's way too old to play the Riddler. That is of course if Nolan stays close to the character's looks...

You're probably right... But it's fun to see MZ lose his pants again!

Robin Williams should play Robin and Cat Stevens should play Catwoman

Maybe Crispin's agent should give the Batman people a call :) I'm sure there is an odd villian that he can play.

Are you friends with Joel Shumacher?

Axlish - Crispin actually bad-mouth TDK in an interview because he thought he should have been cast as Joker and Ledger was a "gay cowboy".

Um, bollocks to him then. Although the way everyone fawned over Brokeback did make me laugh in lieu of that South Park episode a few years ago where everyone is raving about gay cowboys eating pudding...

Well it would be a good role for her, it would keep her quiet. That would be a blessing.

that South Park episode a few years ago where everyone is raving about gay cowboys eating pudding...

That was the FIRST thing I thought of when I heard about Brokeback Mountain first of all. Then I waited a good while to see it, letting all the hype and talk and such die off ... then I watched it, and it was a superb piece of filmmaking, and Ledger (as well as Gyllenhaal) were fantastic in it.

...

I know full well that Nolan hasn't even thought anything about a third Nolanverse Batman flick, and nor would I expect him to - also, he'll no doubt do a film in between (like he did with that film about a magician or two).

So nyah-ha, you didn't succeed in tricking me or anything Neil. :D

...

Mind you, if Depp was cast in a potential third Batman - in whatever role - I'd be cool with that, the dude creates some great characters.

But I would be a bit "hmm, really?" about having The Riddler as the next guy, it seems a bit too cartoony for the Nolanverse, whereas The Joker is flat out f*cked up in the head and a really dark character.

I'd prefer to see a character NOT done in one of the old films before, or indeed a new one, but perhaps a character not done on film before - perhaps tweaked (if necessary) to suit the Nolanverse.

That's an interesting idea. As a matter of fact do you guys think that a robin character might be too "light" for the nolanverse just as it has been suggested the riddler is?

yeah, robin is a definite no-no for this series...

The character of ROBIN needs to stay the **** out of Nolans Batman series. He has finally restored integrity to the franchise, if the put Robin in it, the series is going to die a slow and painful death.

Yes. Robin sucks @ss.

I don't think they should use the Riddler. However, if they do use Riddler they could also bring in Hush, which would be a character much more suited to the Batman Universe Nolan has created. I could see a great movie made with that character...

the riddler would fit into the series, but i can see him being too much like the joker, only telling riddles instead of jokes as he kills bewildered people.

i liked the idea of david tennant as the riddler, but after films like on hour photo i reckon robin williams would be cool as the riddler too.

You know they could set it up to be dark and depraved in that its almost a play off SAW. You're given a riddle and if you can't solve it... you die. :D
