I agree, but i do like to know when someone is selling their own work, as it sheds a light on their motives and the level of objectivity they bring to the work they're promoting.

Thanks for the interest guys! I love a good ol' debate (lol). I didnt want to come on here shouting "Hey look at me i wrote a book" cause of the backlash it might cause (i guess you lose either way online). Just wanted to tell people there's a new Romero book coming out (lol). Its an obvious plug but wouldnt you guys do the same?

With Romero being a specialist subject the only way to announce it is via the internet, go into any bookstore here in the UK and mention Romero and they would be like "Who's that? Isnt that the guy who did those strange zombie films" (if your very very lucky). They wouldnt be interested in reading a book about him, thats why i came here, you guys are Romero fans...

This certainly would have been a more honest approach to notifying us "Romero Fans" about your publication, regardless of the "backlash" that may have resulted which, it appears to me, you did not really avoid with your gambit. Regardless, as I said, I appreciate a good Romero book and likely will check it out.

We are doing signings in the UK at the Birimingham NEC in November, but maybe get over to America in the new year to do signings at some major horror festivals, but we are setting up a comp on HPOTD, stay tuned...

Dawn of the Dead (1978)

Day of the Dead (1985)

· Hollywood Horror Show

Monkey Shines (1988)
Two Evil Eyes (1990)
Night of the Living Dead (1990)
The Dark Half (1992)

· Back from the Dead

Bruiser (2000)
Land of the Dead (2005)
Diary of the Dead (2007)

Each film is split up into the following sections: -

· Ripping Yarn: Gives a brief overview of story and character.
· Making a Monster: Looks at the making of the film.
· Face of Death: Delves into the visual style.
· The Splatter Factor: Examines the special effects.
· Digging up the Dead: Review of the film.
· American Nightmare: Looks at the political dimension.
· From the Vault: Interesting facts.
· Undead or Alive: Overall verdict that is marked out of five.

We also have two concluding chapters: Children of the Living Dead which focuses on the films that have been inspired by Romero, from Lucio Fulci’s Zombie 2 (1979) to such British classics like 28 Days Later (2002) and Shaun of the Dead (2004).

The No More Room in Hell segment looks at the projects Romero could have directed, from the notorious Diamond Dead and Resident Evil to more obscure titles such as Before I Wake, Mongrel: The Legend of Copperhead, Unholy Fire and Goosebumps.

We actually mention the O.J. Simpson documentary in the chapter introduction of Weird Fantasies & Tales of Fear (lol). The 3 year lull between The Crazies and Martin and how he joined Rubinstein :)

We managed to find a list of about 20 film projects Romero was attached to at one point or another, its amazing the amount of unmade film projects he's been involved with. There's a ton of Stephen King projects that never happened, Pet Semetary would have been ace!

If any of you guys live near Worcester in the UK we are doing a signings on the 26th October for the 'World Zombie Day' event. Its going to be a zombie walk around town, signings, stalls, Halloween related goods, it sounds great!

We are in talks with Monny's Mortuary, think the walk begins at 12 noon but they want people there at 11:00 so they can sign up (want to break the world record for walking zombies in day).

Its going to be available in Canada. Its worldwide distribution. They have it listed on Amazon.ca for $9.48 (CDN) says its coming out in Feb but the publishers tell us it will be available before then.
