Okay, so I am doing the usual Fall pilgrimage up into the north country to chill in a cabin, hike, drink, smoke up, chow down and enjoy life with my friend's. Usually I will provide at least one horror movie (Dawn of the Dead, Dotd04, Ringu, 28 Days and 28 Weeks etc.). This year I am thinking of bringing Day of the Dead (don't even suppose anything other than the original) and Undead.

Now I've never seen Undead and can only go by what's been said here. I picked it up this week for $5.99 and wanted to know how mainstream, movie-goers who might enjoy a zed flick now and then but are not major zombie enthusiasts might feel about the film. Is this something that the average guy might like, or does it really only appeal to zombie fans?

The North Country? Don't hear that term much. How far north do you mean? My in-laws live right off the last U.S. exit on the 87. :)

I have never seen it I am afraid but it seemed to have pretty decent production value, I will check it out tonight.

Undead was ok,the ending was really bad though.

It's this the one with the zombie outbreak in Australia?, if it is it makes for good viewing I guess, all except the ending.

I liked it. Pretty funny at the beginning. It's not a serious horror at all Aces. More along the lines of Dead Alive. But good stuff. Enjoy.

Yep, Clang has got it. "Dead Alive" is the movie I compare it to as well, for the bizarre-ness, & tongue-in-cheek, over the top humor. If that sort of thing doesn't bother you then go for it. It's a fun movie w/ an unexpected plot & a couple of twists. I dig it.

undead was a poorly made shaun of the dead with lazy writers and aliens

Shaun=Undead? Nope. No connection. Not even remotely similar. Noting to see here, move along....;)

Yeah, there's no way you can compare Undead to Shaun of the Dead. Those are two completely different movies.

One complaint I have about the movie is the women. None of them I would do.

The film has some really, really annoying characters if you ask me, and they bring the films enjoyment value down many steps. But the production value is awesome for being so low budget.

If your friends aren't into low budget horror and slow as nails pacing you might have a hard tim selling them on it. However, it is worth at least one viewing.

Hehe, not that far up really, but we will be on the Northway (87) for a stretch. We'll end up dead in the middle of the Adirondacks. A little West and South of Long Lake, a few miles off the main roads in the town of Newcomb (yes, pronounced nuke 'em) in a cabin on a lake--perfect Horror movie conditions! I love it up there...sigh...

In any event, I'm bringing the movie up and it will probably take a turn in the projector. Thanks all for the feedback and I'll be sure to warn the guys that it's not an exceedingly dramatic, dour horror.

Undead is crud. Avoid it like the plague that sends the dead to get us...
