did you know that george carlin (of all people) was the narrator of 51 thomas the tank engine episodes? my son has several of the dvds that george carlin narrated and it is,uh, rather strange to hear carlin doing them.

Yes, I did know that. I can recall when I was MUCH younger realizing that was him doing the voice.

Yeah. He had an acting role on that one. He was Mr. Conductor or something like that.

I recently saw a biographical show about him and apparently he REALLY wanted to be respected as an actor, but always seemed to be pigeon-holed as that same old foul mouthed comedian. I guess Kevin Smith was one of the few(and last) that gave him a role outside of his "known" genre....

Shinning Times station is the setting for the Thomas the Tank Engine shows...After Carlin Alec Baldwin made a short appearance and even appeared in the Thomas Movie.
