The Unicat Amerigo International Is Good For Regular, Zombie Or Financiapocalypse

The folks over at UnicatAmericas are no stranger to the idea of living in a vehicle and have sent over a nomination for their International-based Unicat as a proper vehicle for surviving the financiapocalypse, which may require some to live in their vehicles, and the Zombie apocalypse, which presents its own problems. This particular survival vehicle has a 2,000-mile range and carries enough supplies to keep four people alive for more than three months. The other features that make the Unicat an excellent choice for our bleak future (or for people who like to hang out in rough environments) below.

In addition to the capable off-road setup and an interior that looks as comfortable and modern as our own apartment, the Unicat features a 110-gallon freshwater tank and an RO watermaker that can decontaminate and desalinate from almost any source of water. A military-grade first aid kit is setup for most minor emergencies and a complete set of tools (including self-extraction equipment) will keep most people moving in safety. Roof-mounted solar panels help power the Unicat, which features a full suite of global communications equipment as well as an advanced entertainment system for keeping your crew entertained when not on zombie patrol.

A frequent point of discussion when identifying a great survival vehicle is the inclusion of a BOV (bail-out vehicle). The Unicat can be outfitted with two bikes, motorcycle, kayak and a 15' Zodiac with a 15 hp outboard motor.

There's also plenty of storage for extra hunting/fishing/SCUBA gear or whatever you think you'll need to stay alive in the radioactive deserts of the future. It may be more expensive than your house, but your house can't travel 2,000 miles without stopping for gas.

And no weapons. I'll take Dead Reckoning, instead.

I am certain that if you had access to the weapons, you could surely outfit this vehicle with machine guns and rocket launchers just like Dead Reckoning.

Likely you would need those weapons too, since every group of marauders out there on the road are going to want to take this vehicle from you on sight.

yeah dead reckoning is pretty rad...but to tell u the truth i wouldnt feel that safe in any car coz if like zombies blocked the roads u would be trapped...and they could push the vehicle over :(

Is that vehicle intended for studying tornados? I remember seeing a show a few years back about this guy that created a car that could withstand the force of a tornado. That looks a bit like it.

If zombies took over I would try to hole up somewhere. If I had to travel about....I would want something like the tumbler.:D

I've seen the first one posted somewhere before and I think we linked it to a conversation in this forum previously, but I've never seen this more rustic but nevertheless cool beauty...

Cars aren't my thing, but I think Luke's Landspeeder (SW) would be good, especially in a zombie-infested desert.

True.

To add to that you have to look at sustainability. A vehicle you are taking out for short runs on specific targets close to your base of operations, Dead Reckoning is great. You have weapons and fuel stores at a fortified location, you on board a full payload and go out and do what you need to do and then you go back and reload and refuel for the next go.

The truck above is loaded with survival gear, water, cooking necessities, bathroom facilities, and living quarters. You could add weapons to it as would be mandatory, either mounted or held however you would have to be careful because as you add more weight you are shortening the distance it can go without resupply. It is a trade off.

Dead Reckoning was a weapon. This vehicle is a long term survival vehicle meant to give you months out in the wilds, it also allows you to add other vehicles that you could use to go into other areas to supply, making this a portable base camp. I would not drive it through the middle of town waving at the zeds. I would park it in the mountains and then live there, and I would then take motorcycles or ATVs into smaller towns for resupply. Or park it on a remote lake o the opposite side of a sleepy town in the Adirondacks or Catskills and then boat over and grab and go.

It is all about the desired outcome for me personally. Right tool for the right job, you do not drive nails with a screw driver you know?
