and learning (and singing) about love peace and change is a positive thing.

Unlike Sarah Palin who drags her children, especially a Downs Syndrome infant, who needs structure and stability, all over the country and parades them on stage at all hours of the night.

I saw an old kids show from swedish public service back in the day (60s or 70s), where the kids were puzzling together FNL signs. I was quite upset, not because I didn't agree with the message, but rather because they were brainwashing kids at such young age.

I confronted someone from back in the day about this and he shrugged, and said "All they were doing was peicing together peace signs, just using a different name for it. But if they'd done that, you wouldn't have complained, would ya?"

And of course, he was right. If these kids were singing about change, reform and kindness, but omitted the word Obama, none of you guys would have complained. You're just jumping at any oppertunity to do so.

Well, it could also be a backlash or reasoned questioning of a what some view as a popular infatuation sweeping the nation. I don't know, I'm not so good at making blanket statements.

Blanket statements ftl.

While I think it's kinda lame that someone actually wrote a song about Obama, I just view it as that: It's lame but still very meh.

How anyone could be bothered so strongly about people wanting to change the word for the better is beyond me. This is no different than from having your kids sing about Jesus or God. Both are on the same level of brainwashing.

How anyone could be bothered so strongly about people wanting to change the word for the better is beyond me.

I don't begrudge a progressive agenda, and I am not for either of the two 'Chosen One' candidates, but I will continue to be leery of rhetoric-born populism that is short on specifics.

Now, with regards to McCain, I have my own, very different, uncertainties. Both candidates fill me with apprehension and a sense of dread.

There's something "North Korean" about all this:shifty:

If praising Obama in songs is north korean (which I don't really disagree with) then I dare say that praising god in school is medieval. Yet both happen, and hey, that's the way the world works.

To call obama a socialist is a insult to socialists. American's have a hard time distinguishing the difference between Liberal Capitalists and Socialists.

Thats like calling Mccain a libertarian.

TO call Obama a socialist is just idiotic overall, considering he's not. That's like calling McCain a nazi, which he obviously isn't.

Regardless of who you want to win, who do the American board members think will probably win, atm? I'm just curious as over here we are very much getting the impression through the news etc that Obama will win, but I wondered if your media is giving you a different story?

Someone said this on one of those Have I Got News For You-type shows the other night (I forget which):

"... and in America, Obama looks almost certain to win the presidential election. The only question now is whether it will be by a landslide, or some other method that the CIA uses to get rid of him."

I have a mean sense of humour so I laughed.

It will probably be Obama, and there may be riots in the streets...of course, there will almost certainly be riots in the streets if he doesn't win :|

That's not to say that it's a lock, by any means.

Hehe, yeah...when I saw that the FBI were investigating Acorn, I thought it might be a real, or semi-real, or trumped up charge that could possibly be truthfully or falsely linked closely enough to Obama's campaign, and that it might have an effect on the election depending on how hard the media, the various investigative bodies and the justice system decided to run with it.

Regardless, the election will probably not be over at the close of the polls and the initial ballot tallying, unfortunately. ****ing lawyers

Every time someone mentions McCain, I get a craving for oven chips. I hope he doesn't win or I'll be a right tubster for the next 4 years.

EDIT: Not sure if you have them in the US, so in case you don't know what I'm on about:
