He wants to concentrate on doing music. He's not a bad singer, so lets see what he can produce.

Well, I'm sure this might have a few people frothing at the mouth, but I say let the guy do what he likes and best of luck to him. Though, I like some of the stuff he's done, so I certainly wish he'd have taken a more conservative approach to getting further into music, while doing some roles here or there.

I get the feeling, somehow, drug use may have influenced his decision.

I predict he will have a great career as a musician & never go back to acting again, just like those former actors that became musicians who blazed a trail before him such as Russell Crowe & Keannu Reeves...

 That's priceless.

If that's true, hopefully he won't follow in his brother's footsteps.

If not, he'll probably be back to acting before we know it.

It just seems odd. He was truely a rising star. He wasn't quite "A-List" yet, but he was well on his was with the roles he was being given. Ah well, do what you love I guess?

Wow. I don't know how the world got by for so long without a talent like that. It's good that he quit acting. Music like is too important not to be shared. Kinda like a drunken Jim Morrison doing a bad reggae/rap act. The fall off the stage was the best part.

Damn, son...

Well, another year of this and maybe we can get a comeback out of him.

wow. wtf is going on with this dude? either he's burnt himself out with some heavy drug usage or he's taking his acting trade to a new level...

I personally think it's an act. The timing of his awkwardness is just too perfect to not be.

i hope it is a joke of some sort, phoenix is a rare talent in the plastic abyss of hollywood. but he has been playing this whole "i wanna make hip-hop 'music'" routine for a while now.

holy shite! i didn't know you were related to alan moore.

That's the first thing I thought when I came across the scan of the old photo friends of the family gave us recently! I shit you not, Alan Moore was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw it, then the second was: "Do I have any repressed memories I best not try and recall?" :p

I look frikkin' terrified
